For well over a decade, Antonio Varia has been delighting the discerning palates of Central Coast residents with an inventive Northern Italian cuisine. Guests enter through a secluded garden courtyard in to a dramatic dining room complete with hand painted beamed ceilings and a baronial fireplace. Every Friday thru Sunday, a farm house on 10th Street in San Miguel turns into a Basque party. The Tenth Street Cafe offers an eight-course dinner native to the Basque regions of Spain and France. The seating is family-style, so dining next to local winemakers is not just possible, but likely.
Brothers Alfonso and Leonard Curti came to Santa Ynez via the Calabria region in the coastal village of Cariati Marina - at the southern tip of Italy to form the backbone of the Trattoria Grappalo. Taking with them their passion for classic Tuscan cuisine, they now offer such specialties as salmon ravioli with a lemon cream sauce, petit veal rack, pork tenderloin with balsamic sweet onion, and crostini with artichoke paste and ricotta cheese.
The lunch menu features starters, salads, sandwiches and a few “lunch plates” such as Jambalaya Pasta with chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage, BBQ ribs, Macadamia Crusted Salmon with ginger sesame vinaigrette, Asian slaw and spicy cucumbers and Grilled Fresh Fish Tostada with three salsas, lemon slaw, black beans and rice.

Located in the heart of historic Paso Robles, BISTRO Laurent is located in a charming brick building built in the 1890’s. An awe-inspiring menu features dishes such as Crispy crab risotto with sautéed shrimp and herbs beurre blanc and Roasted rack of Colorado Lamb, garlic juice and ratatouille. Bistro Laurent also offers tasting menus of either four or five courses; served with or without wines from their impressive wine store.
