The Bistrot Bourguignon , open in 1985 in Beaune, is the true wine bar with Burgundy wines, and proposes within a traditional framework a regionally influenced cuisine full of new flavors, accompanied by a beautiful wine list of Burgundy, including dozens of offerings by the glass. The atmosphere is imbibed with a a soft Jazz ambiance. The Bistrot offers Jazz concerts every Saturday night and is the proud home of the JAZZ A BEAUNE festival, which takes place in September.
The Laroche Hotel Restaurant and Wine Bar is located in Burgundy, in the heart of Chablis’ picturesque village. This charming hotel-restaurant used to be a mill dating back to the 18th century. Loiseau des Vignes is located in the historic center of Beaune. It is a new concept: the restaurant displays a wine list offering a selection of 70 premium names all served by the glass. The cuisine enables guests to taste a number of the inescapable specialties of Burgundy and some of the paramount dishes of traditional French cuisine. The food is served in two beautifully restored high-ceilinged rooms, where ancient stones and several old niches are clearly visible.
The philosophy of Bernard Loiseau and the way it is maintained and carefully developed by Patrick Bertron and his staff of 20 seem to work, partly because the three stars are still in place, partly because the Relais Bernard Loiseau continues to receive growing number of guests from all corners of the world.
Experienced wine-waiter Guillaume Esmery ensures that every tasting is fun, memorable and unique. You may hone your skills and analyse the colours, aromas and taste sensations, as the wines are poured. There are two tasting menus offered. The “Degustation Selection” with 7 white wines served alongside a meal and the “Grande Degustation” with 15 wines including 3 reds. The menu changes according to the season to take advantage of the bounty from local farms.
The restaurant Les Paulands is located within a hotel remarkably situated between the slopes of Beaune and Nuits, a wine lover’s paradise. The hotel is a large 18th century building nestled in one of France’s most prestigious vineyards. This Burgundy residence, founded in 1898, welcomes guests to dine, taste fabulous wine in one of the largest cellars in France that include wines from both the family estate and from the Burgundy region as a whole. You can dine either on the shady terrace overlooking the swimming pool or in the air-conditioned dining room.
Owner Bruno Berthelin welcomes guests to his wine shop and boutique, ‘Au Plaisir Dit vin’ for wine tastings, wine purchases, wine accessories and above all, friendly conversation. Mr. Berthelin has spent twenty years as a passionate Wine Merchant, ‘a Servant to awaken your senses’. His expertise with the local wine industry allows him to offer hundreds of wines from throughout Burgundy in addition to offering his advice on tours, tastings, local tourism and more.
