Located along the Mendoza River with extraordinary views, this winery offers some of the world’s highest ranked Malbecs. In a November 2007 Robb Report review of the Top 100 Vintners, Achaval – Ferrer is described as, “Established in 1998, this partnership between a group of Argentinean businessmen, led by Santiago Achaval Becu, and Italian winemaker Roberto Cipresso, who makes the La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino, has become something of an overnight legend among wine aficionados.
Our historic lodge, built in 1921, has been completely refurbished. This recent renovation has stayed true to the original farmhouse design by having kept its original adobe walls and cane roof. Each room, with its authentic old-world charm, features a fireplace and access to a private gallery for a warm and inviting environment. At Algodón Wine Estates/Viñas del Golf you will find resort amenities the likes of which can only be found on a classic Argentinean vineyard estate. Among them are our beautiful 9-hole golf course, restaurant and clubhouse, wine-tasting room, cooking classes, horseback riding, tours of our remarkable vineyards, swimming pool, library, wireless internet, and satellite television.
One of the most talked about features of Club Tapiz are the free wine tastings each night. This allows guests to mingle while enjoying wine, cheese, and conversation with travelers from all over the world whether on the terrace or in front of the large fire place. The staff is exceptionally helpful and eager to help with all tourist bookings, whether for wine tastings, local restaurant reservations, car and driver hires, and even rafting or horseback trips. As an added bonus, guests are offered the Tapiz wine tour which includes a tour of the vineyards in a horse-drawn carriage.
On warm days, the restaurant opens its outdoor deck so you can have lunch by the lake and enjoy the soft fresh breeze and the murmur of the water. The restaurant has two VIP lounges for private meetings or lunches. The seasonal menu has been designed by the chef/owner, together with her assistant. They offer a well-balanced, delicious and original menu and provide the best service. Each of the menus combines the two coexisting cultures present in the winery at all times: Argentine and Mediterranean-Spanish, which perfectly match with our Urban, B Crux and Alfa Crux wines.
“The Vines of Mendoza” wine bar is located in downtown Mendoza and offers approximately 50 South American wines by the glass or flight. Wednesday nights feature a local winemaker who will offer tastes from his or her own winery.
Since November 2001, we have shared the secrets of the wine world with those who visit us every day of the year, except Christmas and New Years Day, in our Cava de Turismo. Through original experiences that allow visitors to explore and enjoy the wine-making process through from the harvest to the finished product, Familia Zuccardi is proud to have become known as a pioneer in wine tourism. In 2007, this effort was recognized by the Global Net of the Great Wine Capitals, with the award “Relevant Experience in Wine Tourism”.

Chef Francis Mallman’s restaurant, 1884, is a must stop for any food and wine lover fortunate enough to be visiting Mendoza. The restaurant is housed in a winery located about 10 minutes from the city center in the historic Bodega Escorihuela winery in the heart of the country’s thrilling wine region. Recently rated as number seven in the London Times list of the worlds best restaurants, the ambience is as amazing as the food and wine list. The name 1884 is representative of the year in which the Bodega was founded.
Bodega Norton has a Visitors Center that offers guided tours to the Winery. Such visits are conducted by highly trained personnel that give information both in Spanish and English.. The tours will teach you about the 110 year history of the winery as well as the evolution of the wine industry within our country. Due to its location in the hub of Luján de Cuyo, one of the most highlighted zones for vine growing, every visit is a special opportunity to learn about the wine creation process, from the vineyard to the bottle.
