Bodegas Nieto Senetiner is so proud of the steps that have been taken to ensure great wine that they offer a “Wine Lover’s School” for visitors. Where you can enjoy yourself while you are learning.
Built by the architect Horacio Bresca, our living room is made of Mendocinian rocks brought from the mountains. Our guests can enjoy relaxing on our comfortable sofas, reading Wine Spectator, wine magazines or trip guides to plan their excursions. In winter, we recommend sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine enjoying the peacefulness of the hotel.
Winery is a brilliant concept that includes a wine bar, wine shop, restaurant and cafe rolled into one location. There are several locations throughout Argentina, but the location in Mendoza is of particular noteworthiness. As many of the restaurants in Argentina do not open for dinner until after 10pm, those foreigners looking for a late afternoon/early evening nibble should stop by “The Winery” to ease their hunger and thirst. The cafe next to the restaurant has a menu listed dozens of tapas to go with a glass of espumante, red or white wine of your choosing.
If you choose to stay at our inn, La Posada, you will have a chance to discover the spirit of our winery and our people, and to experience the winemaking process from its beginning. You will be able to walk among the vineyards, to learn about the different varieties of grapes and to follow the process from the arrival of the grapes at the winery until the bottling of the wine.
The plantations were designed for the production of high quality grapes, using an ideal thickness for them. The plants are selected clones from France. In the case of the Malbec variety, selected plants are used from the historic vineyards that form part of the old finca. The main variety of red wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Amongst the white wine variety are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Semillón. Lastly, the rosé wines like in the case of Gewurztraminer.
If you can trust the locals, then there is no better place to order beef in Mendoza than Don Marios. Despite a location within an open mall, the food, particularly the beef makes you feel like you are in a four star steak house. Most people will advise you to try the “bife chorizo” and the famous “Parrillada Argentina”. Both go great with one of the hearty Malbec of Cabernet Sauvignons from the extensive wine list that includes more than 40 varieties from local Mendoza vineyards.
Ruca Malén’s dream began in 1998, when Jean Pierre Thibaud left the chairmanship of Bodegas Chandon in Argentina, after 10 years of service. He met Jacques Louis de Montalembert, who had also forged an outstanding career in the winemaking industry in his hometown, Burgundy. Both men soon discovered that they shared the same dream: starting their own winery in Mendoza, a winemaker’s paradise at the foot of the Andes range.
Although absolutely Argentinean in their conception and production, Septima wines are born with the commitment of crossing borders and entering the international markets. Production of high quality wines is a constant challenge for the entire working team of the Septima cellar. This is achieved by a firm commitment to qualitative improvement of the cellar’s vineyards, together with the gentle treatment of the grapes throughout the production process.
