Bikes ‘n Wines is a fresh and exhilarating approach to Winelands Tourism that appeals to the young-spirited seeking an off-the-beaten-track experience. Explore several superb estates of the Stellenbosch Winelands, situated 50 kilometres outside of Cape Town, through the use of ‘slow tourism’; get out of the tour bus and onto two wheels where you will absorb every sight, smell and sound of the winelands as you cycle along private farm roads and through the vineyards.

The full day tour begins by meeting our guides at a Green café on the famed Long Street in the city centre of Cape Town, followed by a brief informative walk through the picturesque Company Gardens to central station. Board the local trains in first class here and begin the journey to South Africa’s oldest wine route.

Arriving at Lynedoch Eco-Village, riders are geared up and the fun begins! Three unique routes cater to different tastes and abilities whilst all offering a day filled with superb wines and sights.

Bikes ‘n Wines also facilitates private and corporate tours. Tours include transport by train from either cape town or Stellenbosch to the winelands, bike & helmet rental, a snack pack, all wine tastings, a donation to the Lynedoch Eco-Village and a complementary bottle of wine per person. This excludes lunch, we dine an a la carte meal at Skilpadvlei wine estate.

Our cyclists’ safety is a major priority for us and all care is taken to ensure that each cyclist is comfortable and that our equipment is constantly maintained. Guests on Bikes ‘n Wines will be accompanied by our friendly and capable guides from beginning to end who will be happy to assist in any way to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
