The new Asara Hotel opened its doors on the 1st of May 2008 and offers discerning clientele a slice of world class, five star luxury within the heart of the Stellenbosch vineyards. With its 37 stylish appointed rooms, gourmet dining and opulent services “Asara Wine Estate & Hotel” is set to become one of the leading tourism destinations in the winelands.

The luxury rooms and suites are spread between three buildings across the Estate, with each building designed in such a way as to maximize the views over Stellenbosch and the surrounding vineyards and mountains. Asara Wine Estate & Hotel not only offers the highest standard of accommodation and service, but we also pride ourselves on providing premier levels in dining, using only the finest and freshest ingredients. We have different venues throughout the estate including the main Asara restaurant, Raphael’s, an Exclusive Fine Dining section, the more informal Asara Bistro & Tapas bar as well as our Sansibar Cocktail & Whisky lounge.

We strive to produce a range of award winning wines that can please a diverse collection of palettes – from the discerning wine connoisseur to the every day wine drinker – and have become, according to the renowned John Platter wine guide “one of the Cape’s latest success stories…”

The name Asara is derived from the names of the African gods of Earth, Sun and Sky – Astar, Asis & Asase – expressing the harmony in nature’s elements which is reflected in our range of wines. This perfect union gives the wines from Asara their unique character.

At Asara, we focus on the extra-ordinary, the quest for perfection and a complete delight in sheer indulgence. This approach is followed right through the entire winemaking process – starting with the careful handpicking of our grapes, through to the cellaring and maturation of our wines. The proof in this philosophy can be found in each and every bottle. Our production is approximately 65% red and 35% white wines, led by our flagship Bell Tower Collection and all of our wines are grown, matured and bottled on the estate. Our entire range of wines offers exuberant structure and taste, beautifully balanced with undeniable depth, allowing for a celebration of the sense.

WINE TASTING CENTRE
With views overlooking the surrounding mountains and vineyards, our Wine Tasting Centre offers a great location for sampling our range of award winning wines.

We are open daily from 10h00 until 18h00, so come and allow our experienced tasting centre staff to pour you a glass of wine whilst you sit and relax with friends and family. All our wine can be purchased and we can arrange delivery to your door anywhere in South Africa or give you the details of our international agents all over the world.
