Bodegas Ysios, since its foundation, has become the flagship of the “New Rioja”, marking the style of the wines of the New Millennium. The bodega´s philosophy is characterised by the decision to only make Reserva wines and special coupages. A conception which is built on three basic tenets: oenological excellence, constant innovation and research and respect for the Rioja identity.

Bodega Ysios is part of the DOMECQ BODEGAS family, the largest quality wine maker and exporter in Spain and the leading name in the Rioja appellation.

Located in the most beautiful zone of Rioja Alavesa.  The wine cellar surprises and fascinates visitors to this privileged land, considered as one of the better zones in the world for the cultivation of the vine.  Designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava, the buidling, both inside and out, depicts a modernist take combined with a hint of the traditional. 

The 75 hectares of vineyards at Ysios are located in Rioja Alavesa, distributed between the localities of Laguardia and The Villar, the highest zone of Rioja.  The climate is Atlantic with more Mediterranean or continental influence, according to the concrete geographical point, which protects the vineyards from the humidity and cold winds of the north east. 

The 100% of the grapes cultivated are pure Tempranillo, most from vines older than 30 years.
