The vineyards here at Blaauwklippen are tended with care by people with an intimate knowledge of local conditions – some from families who have been on the estate for three generations. They are careful and thorough because they know they have a special responsibility, grown from the Blaauwklippen belief that quality wine is created in the vineyard, not the cellar.

Situated under the branches of the wild fig trees, our new Wine Centre is a reflection of our devotion to the relationship people have with wine, enabling customers to experience and delight in the different facets of wine. As you approach the centre you’ll find an herb garden, where you can touch and smell different herbs and spices that are typical to wine-aromas. Inside you’ll find examples of the soil that the Blaauwklippen grapes are grown in and interesting facts and history about South African wine.

Wine and wine merchandise is on display and for sale, and both an inside and outside tasting area is provided where individuals, casual or formal groups can gather for a wine tasting as presented by one of our skilled Wine Centre tasting advisors. Cellar Tours are available by appointment. Our wine centre also offers a service to customers allowing them to send wines home no matter where that is in the world.
