The winegrowing tradition has been perpetuated in the Chotard family for over two centuries. Currently Daniel and Bridget Chotard manage the estate and produce several award winning wines. Their vines cling to the Sancerre region’s clay-limestone slopes. “Our Sancerre is authentic and bold. We respect the uniqueness of its AOC terroir so you can fully savour all it has to offer. ”

Coming from a family that has been winemaking for more than five centuries, Daniel Chotard was a teacher before coming back into viniculture. As an accordion and guitar player, he is also the founder of the festival “Jazz aux Caves”, so he knows the tempo of Sauvignon. His vineyards are situated on fine sediment soils resulting in rich wines that still allow for the minerals to show through.

Blanc : (Sauvignon Blanc) Aged on the lees – brilliant pale yellow in colour – very pure nose reminiscent of citrus and white blossoms – refreshing and full-bodied on the palate – typical and elegant, well-balanced with good length – serve at approximately 10°C with saltwater and freshwater fish, seafood, white meats, and crottin de Chavignol goat’s cheese

Rosé : (Pinot Noir) Salmon pink in colour – nose redolent of red berries – the palate shows a great deal of freshness and clean, long lasting fruit – a soft, lively and cheerful wine – serve at approximately 8°C with salads, deli meats, grilled meats, spicy dishes, or desserts.

Rouge : (Pinot Noir) Aged for 1 year in tanks and barrels – garnet in colour – nose reminiscent of garden fruit such as blackcurrant, redcurrant and Morello cherry – round and long on the palate with peppery notes – serve at approximately 14°C with red or white meats and cheeses.

Blanc cuvée Marcel Henri : vines planted by my father and uncle – aged for 18 months on fine lees – full and complex with an intense, sophisticated palate – serve at approximately 12°C with monkfish, lobster, scallops, freshwater fish…

Rouge cuvée Champ de l’Archer : Barrel aged for 18 months – deep garnet in colour – superb nose with concentrated peppery and tannic aromas – “pinote” and “fleurte” with the oak. Serve with red meats, game, chocolate desserts…
