The cellar is situated in an old vat. Ideal for the temperature and the conservation of the wine. It is open every day from 9 o’clock am to 6 o’clock pm for tours and tastings. In winter please phone.

Denis and Sophie welcome you to their estate. The area is typical of the Languedoc. Dominated by vineyards with a superb view of the Mont Canigou and the chain of the Pyrenees in the western half of the Minervois, 15km North of Carcassonne on the land of the “Côtes Noires”. The Villatade spreads out through 120 hectares, made-up of fir trees, heath land and 22 hectares of vineyards.

Surrounded by hills and protected by the Black Mountain to the North. The estate has a descending view of the Plain of the Minervois and the rugged outline of the Pyrenees. The present owners Denis and Sophie Morin were charmed by the natural beauty of the area, as they were by the vineyards growing on the slopes which surround the house and cellar. Our objective is to produce agreable and expressive wines from our terroir. La Villatade is also a magnificent “Maison de Maître” which offer spacious and comfortable accommodation. Built around a beautiful court furthermore 500m ², it is a place of reception and conviviality for a stay in a vineyard, in a self catering houses or for a chambres d’Hôtes in a beautiful suite (B& B).

Today six wines, express what the Villatade stands for. “Nothing remains the same; our range of wines is progressing. In the Minervois, as for Vin de Pays , we are looking to offer immediate pleasure.” according to Sophie who looks after the marketing . “I really believe that we haven’t yet found the complete range of aromas that derive from our land … ”
In 2002, we created Rituel. It’s the premiere of the domain, rich and smooth, it s bouquet is dense; the tannins are fine and the fruit fresh and mellow.
The year 2004, gave us the possibility of creating a Syrah Pure (Sanguine) by experimenting on the fresh fruit and spices.
The bottle is not the only container for wine. Agapaï is the “Bag in Box” of the Villatade and can be found in Red and Rosé of 3 litres and 5 litres.
According to Sophie “we must renew and improve daily our wines to respond to the demands of our clients.”

Denis and Sophie after falling in love, with the area of the Minervois became the owners of the Villatade in1993.

Two self catering houses – for 8 persons each – a “suite “for 2/4 persons. It’s possible to rent all the accommodations at the same time for 20 persons.
