Located at Château de Chassagne Montrachet, our company was established in 1951 by Louis Felix Picard, who then owned 2 hectares of vines in Chagny. His son joined him a few years later. Michel Picard left school when he turned 15, at his father’s request, to help him with his everyday tasks: vine work, winemaking, wine producing and marketing.
It is the efforts in the vineyard that lay the foundation for the making of a great wine. By limiting the vineyards treatments, putting the emphasis on environmentally sound pest and disease control, and regulating pruning and yields, Michel Picard does his utmost to encourage his vines to flourish.
You can visit the Château and taste 10 great Burgundies with a local expert. They also offer a Tasting Table where you can encounter and experience between the world of wines and food at the Château’s guest table open Monday thru Saturday for lunch only from March thru November.
