The name “Beauregard”, meaning nice view, comes from the beautiful sight one enjoys from the estate (which lies isolated in the middle of the vineyards), of the rocky cliffs of Solutre and Vergisson, and of the villages of Pouilly and Fuisse. this unique environment has been classified as a “Grand Site de France” in 2006.
Established in 1816 by an Empire Baron, Jean Pasquier, the Chateau de Beauregard covers 36 hectares of vineyards, among which 19 hectares of Pouilly Fuissé, 7 hectares of Saitn Veran and 8 hectares of Fleurie and Moulin a Vent. It is regarded as one of the major estates of Southern Burgundy.
The white wines are vinified at Beauregard whilst an important part of the red wines are made at another family property, the former “Tournissoux House”, situated in the place known as “Poncie” near the village of Fleurie.
The Château de Beauregard wines and Joseph Burrier Selections are on sale at the “Oenotheque George Burrier” in the village of Fuissé at: Rouette de Clos- 71960 Fuissé at telephone # +33 (0) 3 85-32-90-07. Open daily from 10am to noon and from 3pm to 6:30pm.
