Visit the Port Wine producers in the Douro Valley. The Douro is a landscape, both natural and molded by man; quietness, peacefulness, security, health, and well-being, the Wine, namely the Port wine, the river, navigable and to be enjoyed and Human Heritage. The Port Wine Route is a tourist organization in the Douro, which provides tourists with a path to explore the best of the region with a focus on Port Wine. The guide highlights the wine producers, restaurants, hotels, B&B’s and other businesses which rely or accentuate the Port Wine industry.

The Port Wine Route’s objectives, besides providing information on the Douro Demarcated Region and its wines, are to widen the scope of tourism in the area and create activities which complement traditional wine making as an additional source of income for its associates.

Here we create programs for visits to the region for both individuals and groups including:
* Accommodation - Reservations for Rural Tourism establishments and Regional Hotels.

* Meals - Introducing people to local gastronomy through lunches and dinners at our members’ premises or in Regional restaurants, with Wine Lunches/Dinners and typical Harvest Lunches/Dinners.

* Visits and wine tastings - Organised visits to cellars in the region, where you can taste and buy Douro wines and the celebrated Port Wine. We also provide vineyard tours, so that the client may also take part in the whole process of turning the grapes into wine. Furthermore, we also support all promotional initiatives in the Douro, from filming requested by television crews to accompanying journalists to meet our members for interviews, tastings, reports, etc.

* Adventure Activities and Open Air Sports- working in partnership with regional enterprises, with the aim of also furthering their development, we have created tourist activity programmes, including adventure sports using the full potential of the Douro river and of the mountains, organising hikes, for example, in the Serra do Alvão.

* Boat Trips on the Douro River and Historic Train Ride - Reservations for people who wish to enjoy the river, whether by boat or via the Douro Line, riding on the Historic Steam Train, a special train pulled by a steam engine, sharing the fun throughout the trip.
