We love Chacras de coria. This is where our children were born and raised. This land is where we lived through our dreams and misfortunes. This is the place where we imagine our futures. Here is where “Lares de Chacras” started. We are the Day family, a family with history in this area that on a fine spring day, two years ago, we started dreaming about a family project. A new path to cross together. After many days of hard work, it was time to name the family company, which started having a life of its own. Warmth, encounters, afternoons in Chacras, small town life, simplicity, family spirit, all these, the first ideas that came up when we imagined a name for this house, an extension of our own homes.

Lares, in ancient Rome, referred to spaces in a home where families deposited offerings and made petitions to the gods. With time, Lares, meant “home, one’s own home”. This means a lot to us and for our project; we can finally reflect the spirit of a place, its essence, in a word. In Lares de Chacras lies the secret we want to offer our new guests. The most important thing for the Day family is that everyone that arrives feels at home.

This country style house reflects the art of combining Andean stone with typical desert wood, bringing out a natural, simple and modern look. The minute any guest walks in, they know they are in a land of wines. You can see an original window on the floor, showing the view of a wine cellar covered in stone and logs. The perfect atmosphere for tasting the best wines from Mendoza. There are wide logs in every room, showing good taste in the country décor and warmth in the Southern style construction; a style that inspired the architect of Lares de Chacras. The natural environment is seen through all windows and doors, a typical view for Chacras de Coria, the galleries, the park, swimming pool and hot tub, solarium and a “quincho”, a covered area very common for barbecues and special clay ovens, always available for guests who love out-door life.

Lares de Chacras has comfortable rooms for our guests to enjoy and feel at home. It is the best part of the house that combines country style and the services the guests need. All rooms are decorated with tasteful details and are flexible in a way that they can be prepared as single, double, triple and even quadruple rooms. The maximum number of people for the house is 25.

The rooms on the ground floor all have sliding glass doors that face the garden and balconies for the top floor rooms. All floors are wooden, also the interior doors. The double rooms have large beds to assure a pleasant rest and in the morning you can enjoy the fresh air and nature of Chacras. Regarding services, we offer wireless internet, air conditioning, central heating, safety deposit boxes, cable TV and telephones (Direct dialling). In the private bathrooms of each room, special or classic rooms, Lares de Chacras offers Jacuzzis or bathtubs. You will also find an amenity kit and and you can ask for hair dryers.

Breakfast: You can start the day with a nutritious breakfast with coffee, tea, cereals, yogurt, fruits, home made bread and marmalades.

Living room: Built by the architect Horacio Bresca, our living room is made of Mendocinian rocks brought from the mountains. Our guests can enjoy relaxing on our comfortable sofas, reading Wine Spectator, wine magazines or trip guides to plan their excursions. In winter, we recommend sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine enjoying the peacefulness of the hotel.

Swimming pool and jacuzzi (during the summer): Surrounded by a fence, the pool is 5 x 9 m approximately and it has a maximum depth of 1.80 m. Next to the pool, to the south-west, the Jacuzzi is located and it has capacity for 6 in which you can relax after a long excursion day. The Jacuzzi can be heated during the summer but it varies according to the temperature and the guest´s preference.

Bikes: For no extra price, there are bikes available to visit Chacras de Coria, its square, Perpetuo Socorro church and some wineries in the area such as Altavista, Clos de Chacras and Cavas de Weinert. In case of longer wine tours, we suggest doing excursions with experienced travel agencies which would be able to give several alternatives so as to guarantee the guests´safety.
