Although absolutely Argentinean in their conception and production, Septima wines are born with the commitment of crossing borders and entering the international markets. Production of high quality wines is a constant challenge for the entire working team of the Septima cellar. This is achieved by a firm commitment to qualitative improvement of the cellar’s vineyards, together with the gentle treatment of the grapes throughout the production process.

Care for a “healthy and natural” fermentation which respects our most notable tradition, without forgetting the contribution of technology, is fundamental in today’s quality management. Care for the wines during the aging process and a meticulous bottling allows us to provide the consumer, thousands of kilometres away, with a genuine, distinctive and typical product of Argentina.

THE WINE CELLAR
In December 1999, the Codorníu Group realised its historic wish to be present in Argentina, with the purchase of 306 hectares of vineyards in the department of Luján de Cuyo, in the province of Mendoza, Argentina’s wine-growing region by excellence. Some months later, in July 2000, the building of the wine cellar began. Today, Septima is a modern wine cellar, built following the traditional Mendoza system with vineyards planted in the shadow of the Andes.

Today, Septima produces two types of wine: a range of wines made up of generic wines, Septima Malbec – Cabernet Sauvignon and Septima Chardonnay Semillon, and another made up of grape varieties, Septima Malbec, Septima Cabernet Sauvignon, Septima Tempranillo and Septima Syrah. The cellar also produces a sparkling wine elaborated following the Traditional Method, María Codorníu, the composition of which is 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. Septima has also been producing a reserve wine made with the Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec varieties since the middle of 2004.
