They will welcome you in the fine dining restaurant which offers a refined and intimate environment. You will not forget the exquisite cuisine and the friendly restaurant staff.Your dining experience will allow you to spend unforgettable hours relaxing and enjoying our lovely meals that meet the highest standards of gourmet cuisine.

Every dish is a unique experience, which results from culinary creativity, high quality ingredients and a large selection of wines. It’s an extraordinary creative cuisine which harmonizes the local gastronomy with traditional Italian delicacies. The carefully prepared dishes are genuine and tasteful. The restaurant’s wines deserve a special mention: more than 650 different brands are stored in the wine cellar. There is also an outstanding selection of bottles from South Tyrol.

Zur Rothen Rose, (the Red Rose) whose gastronomic roots can be traced back to 1773, is situated in a Thirteenth century building in a small village with plenty of local appeal. It’s name changed to Zur Rose under Peter and Rosa Rabensteine’s busy management, until their daughter and son in law took over in 1985. Margot and Herbert met while still in the hotel school in 1974. Then came the three restorations of 1991, 1996 and 2002. The changes came about slowly, bit by bit, first three rooms, a well stocked cellar with 600 labels (which Margot takes care of) and a kitchen, which was Herbert’s reign until he was joined by his son Daniele.

Herbert is not one to masquerade the original flavours with sauces. His cooking takes advantage of the fantastic local produce and game, which he combines with traditional cooking methods to produce one masterpiece after another. His one true passion though is calf’s head, so make sure to inquire.
