“Enoteca Regionale del Roero” is located in Canale d’Alba, a quiet town with a few examples of the fine architecture known throughout the region.  The restaurant itself is located on the bottom floor of the regional wine center which is in a 19th century building in the middle of town. The cuisine is modern Italian; but better appreciated for the dining experience as a whole, rather than via any particular aspect.  The stock of vintage wines, available by the glass or bottle, can be sampled either in the restaurant or on the evocative terrace. Chef Davide Palluda combines his masterful innovation with local produce and game to provide customers with an incredible dining experience. The wine menu features more than 400 labels, including Barolos, Barberas and other Piedmont varieties as well as samples from throughout Italy and the remainder of the world. 

Davide Palluda has been the chef since 1995.  His gastronomic background is the result of culinary school and extensive work experiences between Langa and Liguria within the heart of Piedmont.  A philosophy showing that freshness and the delicacy of the flavors and aromas, inspired by the seasons, leads to both high quality and an impassioned spirit for both customers and those working in the restaurant. 

The restaurant has strong appeal to both travelers and locals alike, often filled with a young hip crowd that includes local winemakers. The dining room is a beautiful, airy room with Oriental rugs and silk drapes covering floor to ceiling windows. Chef Palluda’s experience cooking for local farmers comes through via his “Head to Hoof Cow” dish in which offal (kidney, liver, tripe, heart) is served as a mosaic of terrines, salads and fritters. All ala carte options and his special menu are sure to please. Make sure you save room for dessert, as this too will give you fond memories for years to follow.
