This avante garde restaurant opened in November of 2005 and has been awing diners ever since. The creativity of the kitchen, fine presentation and service and above all, great tasting fare make this one of the best restaurants around. If that doesn’t sell you, then knowing that Mosaic was voted “Most Romantic Restaurant” in Long Island by Newsday should do the trick.
Four courses Prix fix for $42,00 or with wine pairings for $62. Menu includes tapas plates such as Country style duck pate and a miniature dilled spinach quiche. For appetizers, choices include Chorizo chili quesadilla, Fried asparagus with a poached egg and truffled red wine aioli as well as a steak salad, oysters on the half shell and more. Main courses include Apple brioche stuffed brook trout, Cedar planked salmon with king crab pierogi, Charred duck breast and grilled lamb t-bones. For dessert, save room for a classic chilled blueberry soup with an oatmeal cookie ice cream sandwich, Honey-sea salt creme brulee with grilled peanut butter toast and banana or Coconut Jasmine rice pudding with a chocolate ganache and pecan-clove sugar cookie.
The wine list features about a dozen selections by the glass and a wide variety of bottles, both local and from around the globe.
