The Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast is a beautifully renovated 19th-century home in Greenport, New York, part of the charming and historic North Fork region of Long Island. Immerse yourself in quaint seaside living with a relaxing stay in this historic whaling and seaport village. Originally built in 1822, this charming home has been meticulously restored to maintain its original character and splendor, while at the same time provide guests with comfortable, modern amenities.
Innkeepers Klaus and Renate Wilhelm are originally from Föhr, one of the North Frisian islands off the coast of Germany. They took over the inn in the fall of 2004. Prior to doing so, Renate worked for many prominent social and political figures on Long Island over the last decade, including the Van Alens, direct descendants to the Astors and the Vanderbilts. Her responsibilities included gourmet cooking, event planning and entertaining, organizing social engagements, dinner parties and the like.
Renate’s unique background, combined with the Wilhelms’ European heritage adds a special charm to the experience of staying at the Morning Glory.
Open year-round, The Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast offers three beautifully appointed, air-conditioned guest rooms with private baths. A delicious full breakfast, including a hot entrée is served each morning in The Morning Glory’s elegant dining room or on the garden patio, offering guests a delectable way to start a day of exploring the village, relaxing on the beach, visiting historic landmarks or enjoying the myriad of recreational activities offered in the picturesque North Fork region.
Each of The Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast’s three beautiful guest rooms offer private baths, air conditioning and light and sunny surroundings. All of the rooms provide elegant, comfortable furnishings and modern conveniences such as flat-screen TVs with DVD/VCR capability and wireless internet throughout. The rooms have been completely redecorated in the winter of 2004-05.
