We are located on the Central Coast of California, which is about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. We are only 7-miles west of town at an elevation of 1,800 feet in the Santa Lucia mountain chain, 20-miles inland from the ocean. With hot days contrasted by coastal breezes cooling the vineyards in the evenings, the climate is perfect for our Zinfandel, Syrah and Merlot red-grapes varietal.
Our philosophy is to be a small estate winery, and to be the best at what we do. If that means that we should stay to our vineyard production capacity of (3,000-5,000) cases per year, then so be it. To us, quality is more important than quantity, and up here it’s all about pounds (of grapes) per vine not tons per acre. That is why we began at the roots, by transforming this 40-acre dry orchard farm by pushing through the rocky limestone soils and terracing the hillside similar to our European ancestors. The winery is a vineyard driven operation and we focus lots of our energy into producing the highest quality grapes possible, so that the wines are made in a very traditional style, with fruit forwarding.
In addition to our vineyard, we now offer five Taos style casitas that are carved into the mountain top vineyard. Each with an incredible panoramic view. the hacienda interior, fireplace, private patio and outdoor spa and treatment facilities makes this an ideal place to stay for those with a love of wine and mother nature.
Each room has been personally designed by the owner with New Mexico style interior décor, tribal artworks, comfy beds, private bathrooms & patios with a cozy fireplace to take your mind away. The entire property is gated for your privacy, with plenty of pathways for sightseeing, and or to find a perfect spot for your inspiration. These individual “Bed & Breakfast” casitas are perfectly carved out of the mountain-side atop our vineyard, between our tasting room and the winery. These Casitas’ original designs were inspired from Taos New Mexico’s Pueblo Native American reservation. Each Casita is in the adobe style architecture, providing a panoramic view of the vineyard, and the surrounding canyon/orchard mountains for miles to see.
There are no phones, no internet or any of that commercial hotel stuff. We promise, you won’t miss it at all once you’re here. What you will have is one of the most memorable and amazing experiences you’ll ever know. Life is too short to miss what mother earth has to offer. Come stay with us and watch nature at work; stunning sunrises, breathtaking sunsets, howling coyotes, and your own private sky show with dazzling stars.
The tasting room at the vineyard is open daily from 11:00a.m. -5:00 p.m. It is a one-of-a-kind adobe tasting room with a genuine tipi & artifacts, offers picnics by the pond and the ability to meet the winemaker and see his personal stone sculpture creations & eclectic art collection. As best whispered by one of our visitors “it is like a piece of heaven on earth”
