Located in the Carmel Valley Village 12 miles east of Carmel, the Talbott Tasting Room opened in the spring of 1999. Designed with the feel of the Talbott’s home in mind, it is a perfect showcase not only for their wines, but also for the beautifully handmade neckwear and silk accessories from the Robert Talbott Company. Decorated in Early California style with antiques and artwork, the Tasting Room has a sunny garden patio that is perfect for picnic dining, or just relaxing. In addition to hand-woven silk products custom made by Talbott, the tasting room offers a variety of wine-related literature and accessories.

Founded by the Talbott family a quarter century ago, Talbott Vineyards is dedicated to producing superior Burgundian-style, estate-grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Crafted using grapes from two of Monterey County’s most esteemed vineyard areas, the Santa Lucia Highlands and the Carmel Valley, Talbott wines have earned a reputation for elegance and aging potential. Founder Robb Talbott takes great pride in their meticulous vineyard program. To ensure consistency and quality year after year, Robb and the Talbott winemaking team personally select only a small percentage of the most exceptional estate fruit for use in the Talbott family of wines.

The Talbotts had also purchased excellent fruit for many years from the Sleepy Hollow Vineyard, located adjacent to Talbott’s River Road Vineyard. In 1994, when presented with the opportunity, the Talbotts jumped at the chance to acquire this ideal vineyard property. With the addition of Sleepy Hollow Vineyard, the Talbotts enjoy the benefits of being a 100 percent estate winery, with direct control of all farming of their vineyards.

Today, Talbott Vineyards produces estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir under four labels: Talbott, Logan, Case, and Kali Hart. Each line of wine is its own “winery within a winery,” with its own distinctive style. Talbott Chardonnays have gained a reputation for their elegance and great aging potential, and all Talbott wines have become benchmarks of quality, year after year. The Talbott family plans to keep production small to maintain exacting quality standards and continue to create distinctive handmade wines with intensity, balance, and finesse.
